Vidmate for PC
Download Vidmate for PC
ANY VIDEO, ANYWHERE, YOURS TO DOWNLOAD
Over 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every single minute. Every SINGLE minute. That means by the time you have finished reading just half of this article, around 12 DAYS worth of video content will have been put on YouTube.
And that’s just one platform; Vimeo, Dailymotion etc. all have a ton of video content and the fact is that whilst TV & DVD dominated our lives for many, many years, online video has become an industry in and of itself.
The only problem Vidmate for PC? Unlike with DVD, you don’t get to keep this video, you can’t curate your own personal library of content.
Until now. Welcome to Vidmate.
WHAT DOES IT DO AND WHY SHOULD I CARE?
Let’s just say you haven’t watched a thousand #catsofinstagram videos already today (come on, somebody is watching them, chances are you’re one of them) but you have something a little cooler that you’re into. Maybe you like videos of motorcycle stunt riders or you’re constantly googling ‘how to tie a bow tie’. Wouldn’t it work better for you if you had the option to download those videos and store them?
That way you could create your own library of content to refer to. Maybe you’re into personal development, wouldn’t it be easier to download and keep the very best content that you’ll refer to over and over again?
Of course it would. The downside of streaming is that everything feels so temporary but there is real power in curation, bringing together collections of things that you want to look at again and again and again.
Vidmate will help you to do that. It works natively with Android and allows you to search for awesome video content from the biggest video sites in the world, from YouTube to MetaCafe, Dailymotion to Vimeo – you can also manually add more than 20 other sites that you might want to source your video content from.
Hold on though, didn’t you just search for ‘how the heck can I get Vidmate on my PC?’
Let’s work this one out for you.
HOW TO GET VIDMATE ON YOUR PC – EMULATE
After everything we just talked about, wouldn’t it be pretty sweet to be able to get Vidmate on your PC, rather than just your Android device?
The bad news is that Vidmate is FOR Android, not PC – the good news, that hasn’t stopped us yet.
By using an Android emulator you’ll be able to get hold of Vidmate for PC and start creating a download library of your favorite video content.
What exactly is an Android emulator though? It’s a piece of software that acts like an Android phone whilst running on your PC. It means that you can access all of your apps and games, taking them fast and fullscreen in an instant. It also means that apps like Vidmate can be used to their full advantage in a more appropriate place (searching for video content just works better on PC, don’t you think?)
However, not all Android emulators have been created equally. Some are frustrating pieces of software and can actually slow your machine down. Not to worry, there is a piece of software we highly recommend and will make your Vidmate experience pretty seamless.
Bluestacks for PC is a powerful Android emulator for PC that brings all your documents and apps into one place as well as bringing your phone service plan onto your computer, meaning you can text from your PC!
If you’re going to download an Android emulator, go with something you can trust, take a solid recommendation like this – go get Bluestacks right now, because it works very, very well.
OK, WHAT’S THE CATCH
No catch, Vidmate is a great program and by taking it to PC instead of just your mobile you take advantage of the biggest issue anybody would have with downloading lots of video – space.
You can download in a variety of sizes, right up to 1080p (4K not yet available) but if you want to keep your library a little more contained then you can always choose standard definition which is more than adequate on smaller phone screens (if that’s where you are going to play them).
The great thing about Vidmate is that it really doesn’t claim to do anything else. It’s your mate, for videos, giving you a partner in crime (except it’s legal folks) to get online and start downloading video so you have direct access to them whenever you need them.
It’s a smart and effective piece of software and streamlines the process offered by sites such as KeepVid which all do a great job but are a bit of a pain when you simply want a ‘click and it’s done’ kind of experience.
BUT DO I WANT VIDMATE?
You probably wouldn’t be here if you weren’t considering it so consider this a final thought.
Online video is a wonderful resources but it is always confounded by a simple problem. There’s too much. We simply cannot take it all in and when we have watched something it disappears back into the unknown again.
Sure, you can favourite things but when you are working across several different sites it still becomes frustrating when you want to access that one video you found so useful.
As the online revolution moves forward we are finding something very straightforward.
Choice and variety was a novelty that excited us for a while, but we’re human beings with the capacity to concentrate on only a small number of things at any one time. More and more sites are appearing & offering us a simplified experience, taking experiences that were previously complex and split across multiple sites and compiling them into one place.
Vidmate is simply a one stop tool to download online video and keep it in a personal library.
That’s all it claims to do and it does it very well.
